TEAC / NCATE Design Team
March 7th, 2009The joint TEAC and NCATE design team is holding regular meetings and plans to make some preliminary recommendations to the respective boards in time for their May and June meetings. The team is working toward a unified system of accreditation that will encourage all the nation’s educator programs achieve national accreditation. The new system will strengthen and improve accreditation in education and will offer the nation’s schools a choice of the TEAC and NCATE approaches to accreditation as they exist now and as they will be improved in the future. In January, 2009, TEAC and NCATE issued a joint statement titled “Towards a Unified Accreditation System for Educator Preparation.”
