TEAC Accreditation Panelist receives highest national recognition for teaching

Dr. Jo Anne Deshon, a member of the TEAC Accreditation Panel and first grade teacher at John R. Downes Elementary School in Newark, Delaware, will receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching at a White House ceremony this fall. The award honors oustanding K-12 mathematics or science teaching and the winners, selected by a panel of distinguished scientists, mathematicians, and educators, receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation and an expense-paid trip to Washington, DC, for the White House awards ceremony and several days of educational and celebratory events.
