Festschrift to honor Frank Murray presented at TEAC 2012 Annual Meeting
March 19th, 2012The Teacher Education Accreditation Council published a Festschrift collection of eight essays to honor Frank B. Murray, H. Rodney Sharp Professor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware and founding president of TEAC. Dr. Murray’s commitment to empirically-based quality assurance not only guides his research and work but has served as the basis for his leadership in developing increasingly effective systems of quality control in educator preparation programs
The authors, each distinguished as a leader in higher education and quality assurance, were invited to identify an important trend or shaping factor in quality assurance, quality control, or measurement; to speculate on the mid-term consequences; and to suggest one or two concrete policy or programmatic actions that could be implemented now. The resulting essays are insightful and provocative and, collectively, challenge readers to understand better the political and social context of quality assurance in higher education and to influence its future.
