Elizabeth G. Soslau is an assistant professor of education and coordinator for the student teaching practicum at the University of Delaware. Before pursuing her PhD in education at the University of Delaware with a focus in cognitioni development, Soslau was a middle school teacher and curriculum coach at Grover Washington Jr. Middle School in North Philadelphia for four years. Soslau has consulted for several educational institutions including The Academy of Natural Sciences, Champions of Caring, and The National Constitution Center.
Soslau’s research interests include teacher education, experiential learning and social-global education. Her current research explores the discourse within post-lesson observation conferences between student teachers and their supervisors, with an emphasis on student teachers’ development of adaptive expertise and the strengthening of intersubjectivity. In addition to her clinical experience and research interests, Soslau serves as an executive board member for Need in Deed, a Philadelphia-based non-profit which helps middle school teachers implement social justice teaching methodologies.
