Vice President
Diana Rigden was a senior associate at the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) before coming to TEAC. While at AACTE, Ridgen directed the Mid-Atlantic Regional Teacher Project (MARTP), a six-state collaboration to improve teacher quality and supply, and co-directed the Standards-based Teacher Education Project (STEP). In addition, she conducted a research project on the alignment of teacher licensure tests with scientifically reading research and wrote occasional papers and articles to advocate strong content knowledge for new and continuing teachers. From 2000-2004, Rigden served as vice president and director of the Higher Education Program and from 1995 to 2000 as director of the Teacher Education Program at the Council for Basic Education. Prior to this, she was vice president of Precollege Programs for the Council for Aid to Education in New York. Rigden holds a doctorate in literature from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in literature from the University of Tennessee.
Rigden, Vice President, works collaboratively with the President on all initiatives before TEAC and represents TEAC in public forums and professional meetings. She works with TEAC staff and is an occasional auditor on TEAC audits as well as present at TEAC Accreditation Panel and Accreditation Committee meetings. Rigden will also provide staff support to TEAC's Executive Committee.
