Vice President for Membership Services
Rebecca Pelton comes to TEAC after a career as a teacher and administrator in the public and private school systems in Charlottesville, VA. Over the course of her teaching career, Pelton taught K-12 music and the arts and developed and implemented programs for gifted students, integrating her curriculum with her students’ core subjects. In addition, Pelton designed and implemented technology components for use with students and teachers, developed relationships between her programs and community organizations, and conducted large scale fundraising activities. She earned her master’s in education from Bowling Green State University and the University of Virginia’s Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alma College in Michigan. She is currently finishing her doctorate at the University of Delaware in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction.
Pelton has been with TEAC for six years. Her current responsibilities as Vice President for Membership include recruiting new members, facilitating and supporting member institutions through their accreditation process, scheduling accreditation audits, planning and participating in Inquiry Brief workshops, planning the TEAC Annual Meeting, and serving as staff liaison to the Board Accreditation Committee, Board Nominating Committee and Board Membership Committee.
